United Steelworkers Local 2009 is based out of Langley, British Columbia. Our Local Union represents over 4000 members working in many industries including, sawmilling, logging, steel service centres, steel manufacturing, wood products remanufacturing, nurseries and greenhouses, plastics, transportation and trucking, call centres, gaming facilities, offices and warehouses, auto parts, health care facilities, Universities and more.

Our Union, the USW, has helped working men and women win better wages, benefits, working conditions and workplace justice for more than 70 years. The USW is known for our work in the areas of health and safety, equality, human rights, global justice, environmental action, organizing and education.

Thanks to unions like ours, Canadians have been able to bargain better wages, better medical, drug and dental coverage, life insurance and pensions. And all Canadians have benefited from the USW's work on the political front.
